The Academy offers classes in Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop Lyrical, Tap, Acrobatic and Musical Theatre. We offer adult dance classes in Ballet, Ballet Sculpt, Jazz and Tap.

The recreational dance program teaches the basic principles and terminology in a variety of dance styles. Dance helps develop a healthy body to go with a positive attitude about ones self. The dance programs are designed to offer basic classes at every level of ability from ages 3 to adult. The teachers encourage strong group values as well as aid each student in developing their own individual goals.
Teaching the appreciation and joy of dance, has always been the main focus of The Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance. Dance classes in Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatic, Pointe Work and Musical Theatre are offered to general division students from age 3 to adult, at various levels of ability.
At Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance our recreational dance students enjoy the highest quality of instruction by our professionally trained teachers. Our teachers have regular police checks done, like a day school. Unlike other dance instruction programs we do not have senior students or teenagers teaching our recreational dance classes. Even our 3 year old students benefit from the highest quality of dance instruction.
Students are placed according to age and prior experience.
Classes are held Monday through Sunday in Etobicoke and Monday through Saturday in Mississauga, with a variety of options to choose from throughout the week. All programs are based on a set syllabus to insure that a consistently high standard of instruction is maintained throughout all levels.
The teachers provide each student in the General Division with two written evaluations per year. These reports provide students and parents with useful information on each individual’s progress.
All junior, senior and adult students (ages 6+) are offered the opportunity to participate in a year end performance, which takes place in June at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga. Our Pre-School programs (3 to 5 years) enjoy an in-house performance in June where a costume is worn and admission is free.
Classes are provided for the beginner as well as the more advanced student.
Our half day camp (4-6) offers a great opportunity for students to sample ballet and jazz. Starting with a good warm up, we will learn a little ballet and jazz. A fun craft and snack time offers our tiring dance feet a bit of a break. On Friday we have our our show where parents can see what all we have learned. Feel free to bring your video camera.
For the older dancer (7-16) your week includes fun, and quality study in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical Theatre. Our classes are divided into 4 levels of ability providing instruction for beginner to advanced students. Thursdays mark special lunch days with ice cream or pizza; Friday afternoons feature a showcase for parents to see what has been achieved throughout the week. Video cameras are permitted.
Competitive Classes - Ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, tap, hip hop, acrobatic & musical theatre; from solos to extended lines.
This program is by invitation for students 6 years and up.
Special Training Classes - for gifted dancers, consists of 9 different levels of ballet.
STAR Program - Student Teacher Apprentice Resource Program to gain community volunteer hours while learning how to communicate and connect with the younger students as they assist in various dance classes.
