Choosing the right child care centre can be one of the hardest decisions parents and guardians have to make. You want a child care provider with the experience to keep your child safe and happy. You want your child to learn and grow in a stimulating and fun environment. Most of all, you want your child to get the attention and love he or she needs to develop self-esteem and self-confidence. 

History

For over 40 years,  the YMCA of Greater Toronto has provided quality licensed child care programs with exceptionally high standards of care and education meeting or exceeding Provincial and Municipal licensing requirements. . Today we are the largest not for profit provider of Licensed Child Care in Canada with programs for children from infancy to 12 years throughout the GTA. All of our centres open early and close late to fit the schedule of parents and families.  

We currently operate:

  • More than 250 licensed child care programs
  • Programming for infants to 12 years of age
  • Programs for children in half day and alternating day kindergarten (full day care is available space permitting during school breaks and P.A. Days)
  • Part-time program options in select locations
  • Standard hours of operation are Monday to Friday,  7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Terms and Conditions

The licensee shall ensure that the Licensing Inspection Summary is posted in a conspicuous place in the child care centre at or near an entrance commonly used by parents. The licensee shall ensure that the completed Licensing Checklist and the Summary of Licensing Requirements and Recommendations sheets are readily available for parents. The licensee shall ensure that the total licensed capacity is not exceeded at any time.
Preschool 1 is licensed for use by a group of 16 preschool children.
Toddler 1 is licensed for use by a group of 10 toddler children
Toddler 2 is licensed for use by a group of 15 toddler children
Preschool 2 is licensed for use by a group of 24 preschool children.
Staff, students, volunteers and parents will receive an orientation in regard to evacuations from the rooftop playground. This will be documented by the licensee and a record of review shall be available on site for ministry review.
The licensee shall ensure that fire drills are conducted from the rooftop playground on a regular basis to ensure staff and children are familiar with the evacuation procedures from this location.
The community room is licensed for use by a Primary/Junior School Age group of 30 children.
Children attending within the gymnasium shall be supervised at all times during transition from the community room and during washroom routines.
The gymnasium is licensed for use by a Primary/Junior School Age group of 30 children.

Director's Approval

Director’s Approval is granted for mixed age grouping pursuant to ss. 8(2) and (3) of Ontario Regulation 137/15.
Director's approval is granted for use of the rooftop playground.
