Bronze Cross & Standard First Aid with CPR (Level C) and AED

Take this opportunity to combine Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid with CPR (Level C) and AED (automated external defibrillator) training. Bronze Cross challenges lifesavers with more advanced training and introduces safe supervision in aquatic facilities, the principles of teamwork, procedures, and use of special equipment. Bronze Cross and standard first aid are prerequisites for all advanced training, including National Lifeguard and instructor certifications. This first aid course is for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid, including legal implications of first aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat and cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abdominal and chest injuries, burns, and medical emergencies. Anything less than 100% attendance may affect course completion. Materials required (extra fee): LSS Canadian Lifesaving Manual or First Aid Manual. Prerequisites: Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid with CPR (Level B).

In-Pool Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Clinic - Child

Stand-Up Paddleboarding is one of Canada's fastest growing water activities! Learn SUP basics in a safe pool setting before going out on the open water. After this 1.5 hour clinic, our certified SUP Instructors will have you standing up and paddling on your board! Learn equipment assembly, safety requirements, stance and balance, paddle techniques, and maneuvering. All equipment is provided. Please wear a bathing suit and bring a towel. Age: 10-14

Creative Camp: Art Express Jr

For the creative kid who loves it all! Join us for Camp to explore visual arts, dance, drama and much more! Participants will perform in a showcase on the last day of camp! No experience necessary, just a sense of creative adventure is what Art Express is all about! Age Requirement: campers must turn 5 by December 31st of camp year to register in this camp.

Camp Basketball ( 6 to 9 Years)

This camp is for ballers of all abilities. Participants will enhance their offensive and defensive positioning, dribbling, shooting and passing. Technical skills will be taught through instruction as well as game play. Campers may also participate in various camp activities such as cooperative games, sports, aquatic activities and crafts. These activities vary by location. Before and after care is available, a separate registration and fee is required. Required Equipment: Comfortable clothing including running shoes.

This camp program is for participants with disabilities. This program includes crafts, games, music, swimming and special events that promote fine and gross motor development. Additional Fees: Services for individuals with needs that require one-to-one supervision is available and can be arranged through the Recreation Division for an additional fee.
