The YMCA Child Development and Family Support department works in partnership with the families it serves to provide a safe and nurturing environment which promotes growth and development of the whole child; cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically. We are committed to delivering exceptional quality early learning programs that provide children with the tools to help them reach their full potential.
The YMCA is the largest provider of licensed non-profit Child Care Programs in Simcoe/Muskoka, currently operating in more than 80 locations in Simcoe County, District of Muskoka and District of Parry Sound, with over 3800 licensed child care spaces.
Over 200 children received YMCA assistance to enable accessibility to YMCA Child Care where our Quality Assurance Program managers ensures that we are constantly going beyond what is called for in the Day Nurseries Act. In addition, YMCA staff are qualified, caring, skilled educators who establish a supportive social environment that supports autonomy, self esteem and assists children in establishing positive relationships, friendships and conflict resolution skills. The YMCA is committed to the on-going professional development of our staff. We are constantly growing; even when faced with difficult government funding decisions, the YMCA remains committed to building strong children, strong families, and strong communities. We are dedicated to offering child care where community need exists.
